Alan Pflueger Looks for Three-In-A-Row

Honolulu, HI -- Looking to make it three-in-a-row, Alan Pflueger and the entire Pflueger Racing team are set for a victory run at the upcoming SCORE Henderson's Terrible 250 in Henderson, NV, Saturday, July 12.

Adding yet another new twist, this year drivers will be treated to a brand new race course. Comprised of three 79.4-mile laps for a total of 238.2 miles, competitors will face supersonic high-speed powerline roads, technical tight, twisty mining trails, silt beds, whooped out washes, dramatic hill climbs with mountains on one side and cliffs on the other and two boulder strewn 'highways'. Specially laid out so that no-one will have a hometown advantage, this year's course will be one monster track, pitting man and machine against the roughest terrain Mother Nature has to offer.

"Henderson is a tough, tough course," says Pflueger, who will share driving duties with veteran off-road ace Dan Ragland. "The heat in Henderson this time of year is incredible and you have to be careful to stay really hydrated.

Plus, there is no real pre-running. Unlike the events in Mexico where we spend the minimum of a week leaning all the pitfalls, this race only allows you to run one controlled lap prior to the race. Dan is going to be doing part of the driving in the Baja 1000 again this season and utilizing his talents in this race will give him some extra seat time. He was part of our winning team at last year's 1000 and we are definitely pleased to have him back on board."

One of the most talented racers in off-road today, Pflueger, who currently leads the SCORE Protruck point's battle by 53 points is looking to take his first championship. "Henderson last year marked my fifth off-road race in the SCORE Series. "We ended up third, and went on to finish 2nd in the Series, and earned SCORE Rookie of the Year honors," explains Pflueger. "This year we plan to take the title. We've won the last two events, the San Felipe 250 and the Baja 500, and now we want number three."

Thundering off the startline on Saturday morning, drivers will have a total of 8 hours to complete the arduous hot trek. "If we can average about 50 plus miles per hour and have no problems, we should be able to finish in about 4 ½ or 5 hours," says Pflueger. "My guys definitely know how to prepare a strong truck, one that is capable of conquering the roughest terrain imaginable and Kroyer Racing Engines builds us tough reliable engines, so things should be good. We don't just come to race, we come to win and that is what we plan to do."
