Cinnamon Ranch Racing
Captures Another SCORE Off Road Victory - Making it 8 in a Row

Sacramento, CA (January 24, 2005) -- The Moss brothers, Don and Ken, kicked off the SCORE 2005 Off Road racing season just as they finished the 2004 season, with yet another commanding Class 3 win. The brothers won the 11th annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge (January 15-16) for the fourth year in a row in their Class 3 Ford Bronco. This is the first of the five race 2005 SCORE Desert Racing season and there were over 230 entries from 12 states, Mexico, Australia, Canada and Japan to compete in the world’s foremost desert racing series. The Moss brothers and their Cinnamon Ranch Racing team have amassed a domination in Class 3 (Pro 4x4 short wheel base) with this win, making it 8 consecutive races in which they are undefeated.

Racing a home/ranch built ’79 Ford Bronco, the Moss brothers alternated driving duties with Donald driving on Saturday and Ken taking the wheel on Sunday. The 11 mile course started and finished with a stadium style loop in front of grandstand seating complete with SCOREvision (large screen LCD display of live footage from various locations on the track) which, combined with the hillside viewing area and the event VIP tent, made for a crowd of 15,000 spectators. Racers in Class 3 had 80 minutes to complete 3 laps of the course. Don completed the 33 miles on Saturday in 52.22 minutes at an average of 37.8 mph, a full 10 minutes ahead of the next competitor in their class. Ken continued the domination on Sunday completing the race in 57.28 minutes at an average of 34.54 mph, adding another 12 minutes to their lead, to lock up the commanding win. The event finishing order is based upon the combined two day elapsed time of each team. The team finished the 66 miles at an average speed of 36 mph with a huge 26 minute lead.

Ken commented, ”It was a lot rougher than the pre-run, that’s for sure. It wasn’t too bad though, being wet, there wasn’t as much dust.” Don added, “The course was considerably rougher on Sunday as the unlimited classes ran after us on Saturday, which caused Ken’s times on Sunday to be a little slower. Otherwise, we would typically have identical times.“ It was a clean race with the Bronco being none the worse for wear, a tribute to the talents of the team members who spent countless hours in the planning and building of this race vehicle. Portions of this Laughlin race will be televised nationally as a half hour special on the Speed Channel network on the new “Lucas Oil – On the Edge” show and is scheduled to air on Saturday, March 26 at 6 pm (EST).

The Moss brothers and their black bronco now have their sights set on the SCORE San Felipe 250 race on February 25 – 26, 2005. The Bronco will be serviced and thoroughly checked before the team sets out to assault the Mexican desert in search of their 9th straight class 3 win.

The Cinnamon Ranch Racing team is proud to salute and thank the following sponsors for their teamwork in keeping the team at the front of this class:
Deaver Springs, River City Differential, King Shocks, VP fuel, BF Goodrich tires.
