Torco Racing Fuels becomes the “Exclusive” Fuel supplier for
the CORR Lucas Oil Series
Indianapolis,
IN (January 27, 2005) -- For the
first time in Championship Off Road Racing history, an exclusive fuel supplier
has been added to supply
and distribute racing fuel for the series.
Torco Racing Fuels, the Official Fuel for IHRA and ASA, will join the CORR
Lucas Oil Series in 2005. Evan Knoll, Founder and President of Torco, is a
racer himself, competing as a Funny Car driver in IHRA Drag Racing Series.
“We’re looking forward to playing in the dirt,” said Knoll. “I
was hooked the first time I saw the racing. This will not be a one year deal;
we are looking forward to a long term commitment with the series.”
“We at Torco Race Fuels understand the value of producing a product
you can depend on, that’s why we go that extra mile to ensure the product
that you can put in your gas tank or fuel cell is the best possible product
it can be, time after time.”
“We are there to support the racers,” said Brian Pfeiffer, General
Manager of Torco Racing Fuels. “Having a fuel supplier will help each
team. This (CORR) is an exciting sport and we are proud to be a part of it.
We are coming to the CORR Lucas Oil Series to provide a good quality fuel for
best performance.”
“All of us at Championship Off Road Racing feel this is a major step
toward safer racing with more balanced competition. Also, drivers will not
have the danger or hassle of transporting their own fuel to each event,” said
CORR President Marty Reid.
As the “Exclusive” Fuel
of CORR, all teams will be required to buy their fuel on site at each CORR
event. So teams will have a chance to test
the fuel before the 2005 season begins, engine builders can contact the staff
at Torco for Dyno testing fuel.
Additional advantages to the racers include safer fuel blends, which will
eliminate the use of additives. Some of these additives have been proven to
be harmful to humans. CORR looks at these additives in the same way major sports
organizations look at steroids. The danger far outweighs the advantages.
Torco will provide staff members at each CORR Lucas Oil Series event to administer
the program, the sale of fuel, as well as post race fuel testing. Program implementation
details will follow at a later date.
