The
US Marines and US Army back
Larry Gourlie & Kevin Probst as Team USA
Off-Road branches out
Indianapolis,
IN (April 19, 2005) -- One year after the U.S. Marines signed an agreement with Larry
Gourlie’s Pro-2 truck,
Gourlie also signed an agreement with the U.S. Army giving Kevin Probst’s
Pro-2 truck a brand new look, bringing a presence of two military branches
to Championship Off
Road Racing.
The Army will be the primary
focus on Probst’s #99 Chevy truck in a
joint venture with Larry Gourlie’s #27 U.S. Marines sponsored Chevy.
The newly created Team USA Off-Road will race the entire 2005 CORR Lucas Oil
Series season to bring military career choices to the thousands of fans during
the year, both at the track as well as the 84 hours of coverage on Speed Channel.
Gourlie’s son, Kyle
is enlisted in the Marines, and throughout much of the 2004 season, Gourlie
dedicated his truck to the Marine Corps, with a
photo of Kyle on his hood.
“The Army will utilize Team USA Off-Road activities during the 2005
season in support of reaching new enlistees with a military career in mind
through this new demographic of spectators. Team USA Off-Road and its new look
will focus on the much needed attention on the recruiting efforts of both the
Marine Corps and the Army,” explained Gourlie.
