Rick Huseman prepares to make an impact in the Pro-4 division

Indianapolis, IN (May 9, 2005) -- Life in the CORR Lucas Oil Series is quickly changing for Rick Huseman. Following his fourth straight second-place finish in the Pro-Lite division, Huseman will be handling a new truck with new tires in a new division.

In 2005, with the help of his long-time sponsor Fabtech, Huseman will step into a Toyota Tundra Pro-4 truck with Toyo Tires.

“We wanted to keep running the Pro-Lite to try and get that championship,” explained Huseman. “We’ve had back luck in the past years and never quite got it. We had an opportunity to move up. Dave Winner (Fabtech) really wanted to do something in a bigger truck.”

Rick Huseman’s success in Championship Off Road Racing over the last four years is quite remarkable. 2001 was Huseman’s first full season in the Pro-Lite division. Since 2001, Huseman had four straight second-place finishes in the division, including 17 victories (19 overall wins since 1998).

“We’re really excited about it,” said Tom O’Connor of Toyota Racing Development. “It was one of those deals that worked out really good with Fabtech and TRD being able to help with the technical and engine side. We’re looking forward to it.”

“All of us at Fabtech are very excited to have Rick, along with Huseman Engineering and the entire Huseman family represent Fabtech in the Pro-4 division,” said Dave Winner, Owner of Fabtech. “Rick has proven he has the driving skill and the team behind him to get the job done. I know the entire Huseman team is up for the challenge in 2005.”

“We’re very excited about joining Rick in the Pro-4 division,” said Travis Roffler, Director of Marketing for Toyo Tires. “The Pro-4 division is the ultimate challenge, and we know Rick and his team will be successful. We are looking forward for the challenge.”

Huseman’s unlucky breaks over the past few seasons have not diminished his desire to bring a championship to Fabtech. In the Pro-4 division, he foresees a smooth transition.

“I think being in a Pro-Lite is going to help me out, especially in this truck (Greaves’ old Toyota), which will be a manual transmission,” noted Huseman. “A manual transmission is a little more difficult to drive, but that’s all I know how to drive, so it makes it easier for me that way.”

Even though he will be representing a different vehicle and tire manufacturer, Fabtech will remain a constant for Huseman Racing.

“It is very important to build strong relationships with all of our team drivers,” noted Winner. “As a company, we count on our teams to deliver the proper, positive marketing message for Fabtech. Off-Road Racing is in my blood and we also have similar interests away from the track, so there is a lot of common ground between us. Rick and the Huseman family have been excellent additions to our motor sports efforts and it has been great working with all of them. I look forward to taking our short course off road racing program to the next level.”

Through many test sessions, some of which Greaves came to California to help Huseman adjust to the Toyota Tundra Pro-4, Huseman is getting a better feel for the truck.

“Not only is he a really good driver, but he really fits the profile of the kind of guy we want representing us,” said O’Connor.

The 2005 CORR Lucas Oil Series begins May 21-22 at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. For more information on Championship Off Road Racing and the CORR Lucas Oil Series, visit www.corracing.com.
