Driver Update for Nissan Off Road Nationals
Dear Off Road Racer,
Welcome to the Championship Off Road Racing family. CORR
has received your race entry and would like to thank you in advance for your
participation
in the upcoming Inaugural Nissan Off Road Nationals. Below is important
information and procedures that you will need to know as a participant. Please
visit
the www.corracing.com as we are updating when information is available.
PIT PARKING
CORR will be assigning pit spaces for all competitors. Any driver
who is participating in the media day activities on Thursday September 15th
will be allowed to set
up there pit area for the event. Pit Parking will be available for all other
competitors starting on Monday September 19th between the hours of 8AM and
9PM. There will be a designated area for you to temporarily park if you do
not arrive during the parking hours.
ARMBANDS “GENERAL ADMISSION”
General admission armbands for the
driver and their crew will be sent out from CORR Headquarters with the next
few days.
SHOWERS
Shower times will be from 6-10 p.m. from Sept. 23-Oct.
2 at the Chula Vista High School. Security for these will be a driver arm band.
If there is someone
with a driver or crewmember (spouse, child), that is okay.
DISCOUNT TICKET “PASS CODE”
Ticketmaster is set up to accept ticket sales from race
car drivers at discount prices. Enclosed in this packet is a card that verifies
your personal discount
code. This number will allow you to purchase event tickets for all race days
(Sept 24 & 25, Oct 1 & 2) at a $10.00 discount in any price range of
$30, $40 or $50 and for up to 20 tickets, per event day. Your designated number
will only be valid for a 1-time purchase, so plans for all 4 days will need
to be made in advance to take advantage of ticket discount.
Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or
by calling 1-619-220-TIXS (8497). Tickets are also available at local San
Diego distribution centers
such as Wherehouse Records, Robinson-May, Tower Records, Miramar and 32nd Street.
Tickets can be mailed to your address (there will be a shipping fee), or you
can use ticketfast and print tickets from your home computer. In addition,
tickets will be available at the track starting September 15th at Heritage & Olympic
Parkway from 12-6 p.m.
**Directions on how to purchase children tickets with
this passcode will be available in the next couple of days. It is important
to understand that any
discounted adult tickets must be purchased at the same time in order to assure
that seats will be next to one another.
REGISTRATION AND TECH
Please note the Registration and Tech times
on the schedule below.
All vehicles must pass through CORR Tech before you will be allowed to Pre
Run on Saturday morning at each event. All drivers must check in at CORR Registration
located in the CORR pits during posted registration hours. To avoid long lines,
once you have arrived please check in with Registration and Tech at your earliest
convenience.
TECH & CONTINGENCY INSPECTION
All vehicles must report to tech race ready at
the scheduled times. Helmet and drivers suits are also required. Once you
tech for Event I you do not need
to re-tech for Event II.
DRIVERS MEETINGS
There will be drivers meeting held each day as scheduled. These
meetings are very informative and are mandatory. Penalties will be imposed
for missing a
meeting.
TIMING & SCORING
Readable numbers on the top and rear of each vehicle are
required. Use the number currently on your vehicle but changes may be needed.
Please bring extra
numbers. CORR will also have some available on site.
ELECTRONIC SCORING TRANSPONDERS
Electronic scoring transponders will be used
in all classes. They can be picked up at CORR Tech and personnel will be
available to help
with mounting requirements.
There will be a $20 rental fee as well as a $200 security deposit. Please use
a credit card or two separate checks for these fees.
CLASSES
Remember that only true long course desert vehicles will be allowed
to compete in Unlimited Desert Truck, Unlimited Desert Buggy, Desert Truck
7 and 7s. All
vehicles must be legal for either CORR, SCORE or BITD. All class and safety
rules will apply. Please check specific class rules for this event posted on
our website at www.corracing.com.
TESTING HOURS
Vehicle Testing is available on September 20th through
the 22nd between the hours of 2PM and 6PM. There will be a mandatory drivers
meeting at 1PM each
day before testing.
QUALIFYING/STARTING POSITIONS
Any vehicle that does not race in
the first weekend on September 24-25 will start in the second row of the gold
rush start on Saturday,
October 1st. After
Saturday’s race the competitor will be included in the normal starting
position procedure described below.
- Unlimited Desert Truck and Unlimited Desert Buggy
Both divisions will qualify
on Friday, September 23rd for their starting positions on Saturday, September
24th. Sunday, September 25th
starting positions will
have the top 8 finishers from Saturday inverted with the rest of the field
placed in the order that they finished on Saturday. Anyone who does not make
qualifying will start on the second row of the gold rush start for Saturday’s
race only. After that the competitor will be included in the normal starting
position procedure.
The Starting positions for Saturday, October 1st will be the order that the
competitors finished the first weekend. All competitors who did not compete
in the first weekend will start in the second row. Starting positions for Sunday,
October 2nd will have the top 8 finishers from Saturday inverted with the rest
of the field placed in the order that they finished.
- Super Buggy/Desert Class 10 and 12, Single Buggy/Desert 1600, Desert truck
7s, Desert truck 7
There is NO Qualifying for these divisions. Saturday, September
24th starting grids will be determined by a blind draw. Sunday, September
25th starting positions
will have the top 8 finishers from Saturday inverted with the rest of the field
placed in the order that they finished.
The Starting positions for Saturday, October 1st will be the order that the
competitors finished on the first weekend. . All competitors who did not compete
in the first weekend will start in the second row. Starting positions for Sunday,
October 2nd will have the top 8 finishers from Saturday inverted with the rest
of the field placed in the order that they finished.
- CORR Pro Lite, Pro 2 and Pro 4
Starting positions for all three CORR Pro Divisions
on the first weekend will follow the CORR Pro Series starting position procedures.
However, qualifying
will take place for CORR Pro 2 and 4 divisions on the first weekend Friday,
September 23rd for their starting positions on Saturday, October 1st. Sunday,
October 2nd starting positions will have the top 8 finishers from Saturday
inverted with the rest of the field placed in the order that they finished.
Any competitor that does not qualify will start in the second row on Saturday,
October 1st.
Pro Lite starting positions for Saturday, October 1st will be the order that
the competitors finished on the first weekend. . All competitors who did not
compete in the first weekend will start in the second row. Starting positions
for Sunday, October 2nd will have the top 8 finishers from Saturday inverted
with the rest of the field placed in the order that they finished.
