Coyne Motorsports Owns The Podium
At Inagural San Diego CORR
Nissan Off Road Nationals!
Fresh off their 1st place finish at the SCORE Terrible’s Cup in Las
Vegas, Nevada, Coyne Motorsports and the Pro Comp Trophy Truck came ready to
battle it out with the worlds premier off road racers at the inaugural C.O.R.R.
Nissan Off Road Nationals. This spectacular event filled two back-to-back weekends
with explosive fender-to-fender racing action September 24 & 25 and October
1 & 2, at the newly constructed, state-of-the-art Chula Vista International
Speedway. This facility featured a 1-mile short course track for the C.O.R.R.
regulars with an additional 1.2-mile loop added to showcase the high-speed
desert vehicles. This event marked the return of world class off road racing
to Southern California and showcased a staggering $332,000 in prize money,
the largest purse ever posted for an Off Road Racing event.
Coyne Motorsports driver Marty Coyne, once again proved
he was at home on a short course and dominated on the C.O.R.R. 2.2-mile desert
course. During
the first weekend of events, Marty placed the # 5 Pro Comp Trophy Truck on
the podium both days with a solid 3rd place finish on day one and a 2nd place
finish on day two. “ I just wanted to go out there the first weekend
and put in some clean consistent laps, make no mistakes, and dial in our Pro
Comp Trophy Truck” said Coyne.
The record $332,000 in prize money was posted for the second
weekend of racing and Marty held nothing back. Marty took the Pro Comp Trophy
Truck to the top
of the podium on both days with two stellar back-to-back performances earning
him two first place trophies and the $30,000 in first place prize money. “ Our
Coyne Motorsports / Pro Comp Trophy Truck ran flawlessly, Paul Mischel and
Jake Velasco prep one hell of a truck” Coyne said. “This win is
dedicated to all the people behind the scenes at Coyne Motorsports who make
this happen, “we are very proud to bring this win to Pro Comp in their
own backyard”. “ I want to thank the Baldwin family for promoting
such a spectacular event, we are extremely excited to see this great series
come to Southern California and we want the Baldwin family to know Coyne Motorsports
is their to support them any way they can”.
This 4-Day nationally televised event will air on the Speed Channel.
Look for the Coyne Motorsports team to be charging hard at the Baja 1000
November 17-20 for another fantastic performance.
