SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup II
Set to Return in July of 2006

SCORE Trophy-Trucks lead classes to race
on The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS (October 13, 2005) -- Las Vegas Events and SCORE International announced today that the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup II will officially return to the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) on July 27 - 29, 2006.

The inaugural event in 2005 signaled a return of desert racing to Las Vegas as more than 13,000 fans turned out to see the short-course stadium debut of the world’s premier desert racing series. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the event had an economic impact of more than $3.1 million. The event was also popular with the drivers as 96 of the best racers from the SCORE Desert Series entered the new racing extravaganza.

“We were very pleased with the results of the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup I,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. “Our partnership with Sal Fish and Terrible’s Convenience Stores has produced a viable summer racing event for the destination. Las Vegas Events has worked with SCORE for more than 10 years, and we look forward to the continued growth of this event in Las Vegas, a great place for desert racing and the most exciting city in the world.”

The SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup II will again feature the SCORE Trophy-Trucks – the untamed 800-horsepower, unlimited production trucks that are the featured racing division in the six-race SCORE Desert Series – on a purpose-built race track with limited pavement and man-made dirt simulations of the rugged desert terrain these monsters face in the open desert. Nearly 90-percent of the 1.5 mile course will be viewable from the grandstand area. Also competing in their own race will be the unlimited SCORE Class 1 open-wheel desert race cars, the Class 1-2/1600 limited cars, as well as combined classes for Class 10/SCORE Lite and the mini-truck group of Class 7/7S/7SX.

“This year’s event exceeded all expectations, especially mine,” said Sal Fish, SCORE President and CEO. “The team effort from Las Vegas Events, SCORE and Terrible Herbst was tremendous and our SCORE racers really showed the spectators what desert racing is all about. SCORE is very anxious to work with LVE and Terrible’s again to help this event become event bigger and better.”

To meet the demand for the growing popularity of SCORE desert racing and the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup, Las Vegas Events will add temporary seating to the Dirt Track at LVMS. Seating capacity for the 2005 event was approximately 8,000. Seating capacity for the 2006 event is expected to approach 12,000.

“From a sponsor perspective, this event was spectacular for us, and from a racer’s side the competition was fierce and exciting, and as a race team it just -+

didn’t turn out as well as we would have liked,” said Ed Herbst, President of Herbst Gaming who is also a top SCORE racer along with his younger brothers Tim and Troy. “We have wanted an event like this for years and the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup is a great way to keep the sport alive in Las Vegas. Working with Sal Fish and SCORE and Pat Christenson and Las Vegas Events is always a big plus for Terrible Herbst.”

The three-day event will include some special ancillary events held on Thursday, July 27, in Las Vegas before the teams move out to LVMS. Ancillary activities will include the SCORE Las Vegas Pit Stop – the ultimate fan-friendly event featuring a vehicle display, the Terrible’s Pit Crew Challenge for SCORE Trophy-Trucks and a concert – under the canopy of the Fremont Street Experience. Each night at LVMS, there will be an autograph session, vehicle display and meet-and-greet with drivers prior to the racing action, heat races and a main event.

SCORE International, based in Los Angeles and founded in 1973, is the world’s leading desert racing organization. SCORE produces the annual six-race SCORE Desert Series, which includes three races in Baja California, Mexico and three in Southern Nevada. SCORE offers 24 Pro and 5 Sportsman classes in the desert. SCORE and Las Vegas have been promotional partners for more than 10 years. The SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge, held each January, and September’s SCORE Las Vegas Primm 300 are both sponsored by Las Vegas Events in association with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup II will again offer both reserved and general admission tickets. Special ticket packages, which will include pit passes, will be announced shortly.

Like this year, next year's event will be held under the lights at LVMS for two nights, with the green flag dropping at 7 p.m. each evening.

A recap of the inaugural SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup I can be found at the official web site of the event at www.scorelasvegas.com.
