Banks Power No. 36 Trophy Truck Takes First Overall at MDR Event
AZUSA, CA (November 14, 2005
) -- In typical Gale Banks Engineering race winning fashion,
the Banks Power No. 36 Trophy Truck, driven by Wayne Lugo, placed first overall
in the Mojave Desert Racing (MDR) Outlaw 250 race this past weekend.
In
only its second event, the Banks Power No. 36 Trophy Truck finished more
than 15 minutes quicker, and almost four miles per hour faster than its closest
competitor.
Gale Banks said that this win is yet another example of
Gale Banks Engineering's commitment to race winning performance. “We race and expect to win,” said
Gale Banks, president and owner of Gale Banks Engineering. “I anticipate
this win is a prelude to our upcoming efforts with the Donahoe Racing Super
Duty diesel at the SCORE Baja 1000 this week in Ensenada, Mexico.”
Banks,
who has competed in many forms of racing, but never in the Baja 1000, will
start the race behind the wheel of Team Donahoe's new Ford Super-Duty
in the Stock Full Class. Banks will team with Steve Kreiger, who will take
over after Banks; Bill Donahoe, who is coming out of retirement; and Kreg
Donahoe, who will drive the last leg of the race. The combination of Banks
Power! and Donahoe Racing look to bring home another Class Championship
in the Series' most difficult race.
