Official driver registration now underway for LVMS Dirt Track to host best of SCORE Desert Racing, featuring Marquee SCORE Trophy-Truck and unlimited Class 1 LOS ANGELES—Official driver registration and ticket sales have both started for July’s SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup II featuring the top car and truck classes of the SCORE Desert Series, the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Series, it was announced today by Los Angeles-based SCORE International. Being held on a special man-made ‘chunk of Baja’ course in and around
the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the best of SCORE desert racing
will be on display July 28-29 in the glowing spotlight of entertainment and
special events capital of the world. With 20 or more vehicles expected in each of the five different groups at the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup II, racing will begin at 7 p.m. each night at LVMS and both nights will conclude with colorful Terrible’s Fireworks Shows. Driver registration for the limited-field, select-classes special event is Friday, May 12. Registration is being conducted through the SCORE headquarters in Los Angeles. “Last year’s inaugural SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup was amazing and
we fully anticipate this year’s racing spectacular to be beyond belief,” said

this.” Round 3 of the six-race 2006 SCORE Desert Series in Ensenada, Mexico, will feature nearly 400 entries, competing in 24 Pro and 5 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs, will be held June 2-4. Nearly 90-percent of the 1.5 mile course for the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible ’s Cup II will be viewable from the grandstands, and, based on near sellout-crowds last year, the facility will add temporary seats to increase the seating capacity to nearly 12,000 from the normal 8,026. Competing in their own race will be the marquee SCORE Trophy-Trucks and the unlimited SCORE Class 1 open-wheel desert race cars along with special groups for open-wheelers in Class 1-2/1600 and Class 10/SCORE Lite along with the mini-trucks of Class 7/Class 7S/Class 7SX. The racing will have a $60,000 cash purse plus contingency postings. With each paid admission will also come one coupon for the free drawing for the SCORE Terrible’s Fan Appreciation give-a-way. A new Dodge Truck, donated by Terrible’s, will be the grand prize given away on Saturday night (July 29) at LVMS.
For the Blue reserved section, individual tickets are $25 Friday, $30 Saturday and $50 for the discounted two-day SCORE Combo package. For the White reserved section, individual tickets are $20/$25 and $40 for the discounted two-day SCORE Combo. For the Red General Admission section, individual tickets are $15/$20 and $30 for the discounted two-day SCORE Combo. Permanent seating at the facility is 8,026. SCORE Pit Passes are available for $10 per day or $15 for the discounted two-day SCORE Pit Combo. The two official host hotels for the event-Terrible's Hotel/Casino and the Golden Nugget Hotel/Casino both have special room blocks for the event and both are using the same group code "SCORE" for the event week. All of last year’s winners are expected to be in this year’s field as well. The 2005 winners were Marty Coyne, El Centro, Calif. (SCORE Trophy-Truck), Rich Ronco, Peoria, Ariz. (SCORE Class 1), Arden Dennington, Tracy, Calif. (SCORE Class 1-2/1600), Larry Roeseler, Hesperia, Calif. (Class 7/7S/7SX), Rob MacCachren, Las Vegas (SCORE Class 10) and Vic Bruckmann, San Diego (SCORE Lite). SCORE International, based in Los Angeles and founded in 1973, is the world’s leading desert racing organization. SCORE produces the annual five-race SCORE Desert Series, which includes three races in Baja California, Mexico and two in Southern Nevada. SCORE offers 24 Pro and 5 Sportsman classes in the desert.
