TEAM HUMMER LOOKING FORWARD TO
‘TERRIBLE’S TOWN 250’

Reno, NV - April. 25, 2006: The second race of Best in the Desert Racing Association’s Silver State Series, the ‘Terrible’s Town 250’, is next on the 2006 Team HUMMER racing schedule. The event will be contested over a 250 mile loop course which starts in the old mining town of Johnnie, Nevada on April 29th. Hosted by Terrible’s Town Casino, this is one of the most popular events in the series due, in part, to the additional $40,000 in prize money put up by the Casino which also sponsors a huge barbecue at the finish line on raceday afternoon. This will be the eighth year of the ‘Terrible’s Town 250’ and Team HUMMER’s Josh Hall is the defending champion in Class 4100 having driven the H2 to victory in last year’s event. This is a rugged course which winds it’s way north, about 100 miles into Southern Nevada’s Amargosa Valley, before turning back for the return trip to the finish in Pahrump.

Since the ‘Parker 425’, in February, things have been very busy for Team HUMMER. The old #8102 H1 Pickup was finally retired after posting a fine third place finish at Parker. Our new H1 Chief Mechanic, John Cumming, has been busy on the final construction of the new Team HUMMER H1 Alpha Pickup truck in his Mesa, Arizona shop. After two days of testing in the desert, the new truck performed flawlessly requiring only a few minor adjustments to be deemed race ready. The Duramax Diesel powerplant is smooth and responsive and everyone is very excited about the debut of the H1 Alpha. In fact, Cumming, who, along with his partner, Tricia Neece, has been working on the new H1 for over a year, is so confident in the truck that he is expecting no less than a podium finish at Terrible’s Town.

The #4101 H2 SUV had problems at Parker when an internal part in the transmission failed. A freshly rebuilt Hydra-Matic has been installed and some other minor issues have been addressed giving the H2 a new lease on life. Although starting the year without a finish has put us at a disadvantage in the chase for the Class 4100 Points Championship, it’s still early in the season. After winning nine of his last ten races, Josh Hall and the Team HUMMER crew are confident that they can put the H2 back in the winner’s circle at the ‘Terrible’s Town 250’.

Coming off two consecutive victories at the ‘Baja 1000 and ‘Parker 425, team owner, Rod Hall will be behind the wheel of his #3111 H3 Team HUMMER mid-sized SUV when the green flag drops at Terrible’s Town. A shifting problem in the transmission, which cropped up at Parker, has been traced to a software glitch and a patch has been installed which has fixed the problem. The H3 easily lives up to the HUMMERs reputation for durability and only needed a good race prep to be made race-ready for Terrible’s Town.

We have an automotive journalist riding with us at this event who will report on his experience after the race. It’s safe to say that Team HUMMER will make very effort to give him something worth writing about.
