That's right, Team UBRT Racing is now 10 wins in the
last 10 races for a total of 13 wins in 16 races!

Wow, what a weekend. This event happen to be the 2nd Annual Beard Seat Shootout that I helped put together, the same event as last year that Tim Krueger and I put on. Thank you RedArt/Beard Seats!

I started out by leaving Wednesday Night at 9:00 to arrive at the track at 12:30 and went straight to bed. I woke up at 6 am and turned on the news to see that the National Weather Service was going to issue a wind advisory for the Antelope and Apple Valleys at 11:00 am. They missed it by 30 minutes. The wind came up at 11:30 but not to the extent they predicted.

I started setting up throughout the day and Lloyd showed up Thursday early evening. It wound up being a very relaxing day and evening with a little needed down time. Friday morning Lloyd and I did our pre-run of the course to mark the GPS. Our team started showing up throughout the day as Lloyd and I wound up helping a few teams with some problems they were having and invited them to pit in our area race day (so if they needed help we could be right there) that had been marked out the weekend before. That's right, I went out the weekend before to mark out an enough area for 3 teams to pit and wound up with 7 teams in our area. Our team will NEVER turn anyone away! We all had plenty of room and a blast.

Saturday, here we go. The team chose to put Lloyd Snyder (driver) and Jeff Moore (co-driver) in the truck for the first three laps to give them some needed seat time for our next up coming race. More on this later. Lap one had lots of race traffic with some 122 race cars and trucks taking the green flag and our team elected to take a rear start in our class. Lap time 1st lap was a 48.48 minute lap (49.2 MPH) on the 40 mile course. Lap 2 was a little cleaner with a 48.09 minute lap (49.8 MPH). Note: we chose to pit just after the start/finish line. We pitted for fuel and a quick look over the truck and off they went on lap 3 for a 49.36 minute lap (48.4 MPH). Please note that these speeds were in the elite Class 1 Race Car times.

Beginning of lap 4 we brought them in for a driver and co-driver change to which Nick Cerrule (co-driver) and myself Bob Schreiner (driver) entered the seats. Off we went and stopped 1 mile later to reset my seat belts. What a blast it was until we received our flat (it was on Lloyd's side) at mile marker 36 to which we had some help with the tire change by a guy we now know was Andrew and his friends. Thanks guys! Our lap was a 1:00:2 (39.8 MPH). Last lap I pitted to give my oldest daughter Danyelle (29) a ride of her life with a grin from ear to ear and giggling the whole 40 miles. Lap time was 55:56 (42.9 MPH). We had passed the 2nd place truck 100 yards before the start/finish line to put them 1 lap behind when we got the checkered flag.

Please take a note for the very near future that my 3 daughters Danyelle, Autumn (28) and Rochelle (25) will be racing our truck at the Damzl Powder Puff Race with MORE in October. This is a "Charity RACE FOR THE CURE !! Breast Cancer Awareness in October" with over 75 entries so far. More on this also later.

As usual we had a lot of family, friends and team mates this weekend. Stu in truck #1487 and Danyelle, Rochelle's future father-in-law Ron (that's right, the wedding is next week June 10th) with his camera (a pro photographer for the Off Shore Race Boat circuit) my brother Steve and very close friend Eric, our secretary Lisa Romero, Papa and Mama Crone, both Joyce's (Lloyd's and my wives) Josh and Candie, Richard and Missy, Nick, Jeff Moore, Jeff and Brett Carley, Doug and Jenn, Ron and Lisa, Tess and of course 4 of my 5 grandchildren (I think there was more dirt on them then on the ground). I hope I didn't leave anyone out! Oh and Chris, Cameron, Tim and Tim Krueger. I think that's it.

One thing we don't do is go hungry at the MORE races. This race happen to be the Annual Chili Cook Off along with the Hot Dog eating contest for kids 12 and under put on by Shelby (KST Racing 578) and Bill Markel. With over 30 pots of chili and cooking 750 hot dogs (300 donated by Team UBRT Racing) nobody went away hungry. These kids had a blast with ALL of them walking away with gifts, shirts and toys. The winner eat 11 hot dogs in 3 minutes! WOW
