VILDOSOLA MAINTAINS PROTRUCK POINTS LEAD

Tavo Vildosola, co-driver Bryan Freeman and riding/prep mechanic Jimmy Davidson are eager to get back out to the desert and have a successful Vegas to Reno event. Protruck #1204 is the defending champion of the event, coming in 1st place last year in the closely contested class. The team is also coming off the heels of a legendary race, Pike's Peak, where they managed to place second behind Charlie McDowell by only 9/10th's of a second on July 1st.

After enjoying a couple of early season victories the team has struggled to reach the checkered flag but nonetheless still retains a five point margin leading the Protruck Championship over Rob Reinerson. "We had a string of bad races, a combination of bad luck and driver error kept us from winning, at Terrible's Town we had a ball joint break and at the Baja 500 I rolled it half way through the race," stated Tavo. The team is sitting four points behind Ryan Staats in the Best in the Desert points championship for the Protruck class. "This is a very important race on our schedule, it's a double points event and we also need to regain our lead in the BITD championship," stated Bryan.

There are only three double points races left in the year, Vegas to Reno, Baja 1000 and just last week Protruck announced a closed-course event at Glen Helen to take place December 8 - 10. Beside those three race the Protruck #204 will also be participating at SCORE's Primm 300, BITD's Las Vegas 300 and Henderson 400 making it a busy second half for Jimmy, Bryan and Tavo.

When asked about the current standing of Protruck #204, Tavo said, "We have a long way to go still this season, the competition is very tough this year, I think we got back on the right foot at Pike's Peak taking second, now I hope we can continue on that path and reach the goal Bryan, Jimmy and I set at the beginning of the season.a triple championship." Fourteen Pro-trucks are entered in this event so it will be interesting to say the least.
