VILDOSOLA TRICK TRUCK READY TO ROLL
Gustavo Vildosola and co-driver Rob MacCachren along with new prep mechanic
and riding mechanic Javier "Javy" Valenzuela are ready to take on Best In The
Deserts' Vegas to Reno on Aug. 24-27. Tech and Contingency will take place on
Thursday the 24th in Las Vegas; the 587-mile challenge starts Friday the 25th
in Alamo, just outside of Vegas. There are 18 Trick Trucks currently entered
for the event. Best In The Desert Largest entry for Trick Trucks.
After a disappointing first half of the 2006 season, Vildosola Racing
decided to forego the last event on their calendar, Terrible's Cup II, to
"work out the bugs" in the Trophy/Trick Truck #4. "We are very encouraged
by the progress we have made the last two months after the Baja 500, there
were several issues we needed to address and believe we have made huge
strides in taking care of them," stated Gus. "We have also promoted Javy
to prep mechanic and riding mechanic in the truck and are very pleased with
the enthusiasm, work ethic and willingness to learn."
This will be Javier's first race in the Trick Truck; he has had some
co-riding experience in other limited classes but has been gaining working
hard ands riding every mile of testing put on the truck since the Baja 500.
He has been with Vildosola Racing for a little over two years now and has
earned the opportunity to be Gus and Rob's right hand man.
The race is going to be challenging, it is the second longest race of
the season tallying just under six-hundred miles. This will be the first
Vegas to Reno event for Gus but Rob has logged many miles at this race and
is very experienced in the Nevada Desert. "We are very excited going into
this event, we are confident we will do well, benefiting from our continuous
pursuit of another overall victory and our first in Best In the Desert."
SO WATCH FOR ALL THOSE RED SHIRTS, THE SIGNATURE MARK OF TEAM VILDOSOLA!!!
