Las Vegas, NV - Best In The Desert Racing Association and Protruck Racing Organization are taking you back to the days of yesteryear! Remember the Mint "400", remember the hoopla associated with the Mint "400" drawing for start positions? Well, most of you will remember, and that is exactly what Best In The Desert and Protruck Racing Organization are going to recreate. A fun packed day of bench racing, seeing old friends and meeting new ones, and all centered around the draw for start positions for the 2001 - "Vegas to Reno" - "The Longest Off-Road Race in the United States!"

The Mint "400" was the happening of the 70's & 80"s! Well, the "Vegas to Reno" is the new happening of the 90's & 2000's! Best In Desert and Protruck Racing Organization are reviving that excitement, they are recreating the fun of the 70's. An extravaganza centered around the "draw for start positions," an event designed for the race enthusiast who can't get enough of off-road racing, off-road race vehicles and talking about off-road racing!

On Saturday, September 8, 2001, Best In The Desert Racing Association and Protruck Racing Organization will host an event that will exceed your expectations! These two great organizations have gotten together to host a "draw for start positions" party for the 2001- "Vegas to Reno". This exciting fun-packed day will give the race enthusiast the opportunity to talk to racing legends Ivan "Ironman" Stewart, and Casey Folks, Director of Best In The Desert. You will also have the opportunity to tour the new Protruck Racing Organization Headquarters, where the awesome Protrucks will be on display. Race teams, from all divisions of racing, Motorcycles, Quads, Cars and Trucks, will on hand to meet and to talk about their stories. We promise, this event will be a happening, it will be a who's who in off-road racing, and you will have every opportunity to eat, drink and talk off-road racing all day long! This will be a party you won't want to miss!

The "draw for start positions" party will be on Saturday, September, 8, 2001, at the new Protruck Racing Organization Headquarters in El Cajon, CA, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Steve Scaroni of Advanced Wireless Inc./SMD Motorsports, and Car Quest will host a barbecue lunch, there will be a fantastic DJ providing music, and of course, the draw will be "the event" of the day.

The 2001 - "Vegas to Reno" hosts a full compliment of race vehicles, which includes Motorcycles, Quads, Cars and Trucks. We ask all racers participating in the 2001 - "Vegas to Reno" to have an entry form in to the Best In The Desert office prior to September 8. You do not need to be present to be included in the draw, but you do need to have an entry form submitted. You will also be able to enter at the Protruck Racing Headquarters on Saturday, prior to the draw. We welcome all race enthusiasts, however, we do ask you to RSVP to either Best In The Desert or Protruck Racing Organization so we can make sure to provide enough food and drinks!
